How soon if ever will we see a team in London?  Goodell seems convinced that the NFL could have a team in London.  With the current 16 game schedule that would mean eight home games a year.  A scheduling nightmare, as you would have to assure teams had bye weeks either before or after, preferably before playing London.  What about West Coast teams, would they somehow limit this type of matchup.  I imagine the AFC East or AFC North would be the best fit.  Thoughts?

What about team names?  How about the London Fog or London Calling?  Would there be an expansion draft and would Big Ben have to play for London?  Start your London Fletcher references now.

My best guess is it will be a relocated team.  Probably Jacksonville.  I don't see it happening until after the collective bargaining agreement of 2011 is cleared up.  Which brings up the question will there be a 2011 season let alone any in London in the near future.

Based on the podcast I know Alex is not convinced, but I did not make this up.  Roger Goodell seems bent on making this happen.  He also seemed pretty adamant that it will be a NEW team, not an existing team.  The NFL does have some issues to clear up before tackling a London franchise, particularly collective bargaining.  I too think perhaps a team in Mexico or Canada might be a better step and I think scheduling is a huge headache.  I would not be surprised that if a franchise shows up in London that our current scheduling changes drastically.  Maybe a bigger split between the AFC and NFC and perhaps even a change in conference names down the road.

I'd call them the "London Clash" since the team will be clashing with everything that is the NFL schedules ect.
