After seeing the US Olympic Curling team on Real Sports on HBO this weekend I am more convinced than ever that Curling is a complete joke. It might have it's fans, people who live on the frozen tundra and like shuffle board, but that is all curling is, shuffle board on ice. The US team's diet consisted of Mountain Dew and McDonalds and the dudes seriously did not look like athletes.
I tried for several years now to give Curling a chance, but after seeing those dudes. I am convinced that if given the training opportunity I could make the Curling team. I am sorry, but the GAME, not sport, deserves the same respect as shuffle board. I am just as impressed with the worlds best shuffle board player, back gammon players, what have you. They are seriously hurting for Winter Olympic events when Curling is in the Olympics. I do not care how popular it is in Canada, it is only because it is too damn cold to go outside. Have you ever thought about just how accessible most if not all the events in the Winter Olympics are to most of the people in the world? The answer is not very.
